Importance of lazy days

Do yourself a favour and go rest. Yes, that’s right, go relax! While i’m so encouraging everybody to work hard on your dreams, to put yourself out there and work work work, to skip some parties and focus on self-evolving („Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing” as one of my favourite quotes says) it is good to let go from time to time too. Let loose. It’s not just good, it’s actually important for your brain and body. You can’t study all the time. You can’t work 24/7. Your brain needs that break. And i’m not talking about sleeping time, you need some free time during the day too.

I kept thinking that watching some silly TV shows or playing PS4 was a waste of time and i felt bad that i was doing that (cause i love TV show and PS4!) instead of working, focusing on my dreams. Not anymore! It is scientifically proven that lazy days/afternoons are important and that results of your work will be better and you’ll work more efficiently if you have breaks from time to time than if you work for couple hours straight. It’s not just about your work, your job, it’s also about your dreams. Don’t get too obsessed with your goals. It won’t happen over night anyway. Take your time. Take some time off. You’ll notice that you have better ideas and you’ll be more willing to work after your relax time.

The same thing is with studying. The best way to learn is to chop all the things you need to get into your brain into smaller pieces and study it 20min by heart, totally focused, then take 10-15min break. Then study again for 20minutes, then take a break. It is much more effective for your brain to remember all the things you need to!

If you feel tired, that you’ve had enough, that you’re not passionato about what you’re doing anymore – TAKE A BREAK. It can be 1 full day of not doing anything productive, it can be a week, just do it!

So tell me, what kind of person are you? Do you work hard on your dreams? Or do you take most of your time off and relax?
