I’ll be happy when…

I have started new (and probably biggest yet) challenge on my Instagram! 🤩 It’s about following dreams! I’m one of those people who always encourage you to dream big and follow those dreams! I’ll be always rooting for you to work hard on reaching your goal 💪.

BUT!
Setting goals and dreaming big is amazing and I am all for it but you need to learn to be happy during the process of following dreams, to be happy on your path, not only at the finish line ☺️.

You can’t get stuck on „I’ll be happy when…” syndrome.
➡️ „I’ll be happy when I finally manage to get a new job and quit current one.”
➡️ „I’ll be happy when I finally move to a bigger house.”
➡️ „I’ll be happy when I succeed and when my company gets 1000 clients.”

Do you see what’s wrong with those sentences? You’re blocking your own happiness! 😔 Thinking that you’ll be happy when you succeed you subconsciously tell yourself to be unhappy now 😬. What if it takes several years for you to achieve your goal? And what if it doesn’t work out and you won’t reach that particular goal (sometimes it just doesn’t happen, sometimes you miss your opportunity, run out of time etc)? Will you never be happy then? 😔

Appreciate all the steps inbetween! There’s so many more steps to be happy about rather than just the final one 🏁. E.g. if your goal is to get 1000 clients you still get a milestone when you get the 1st one! 🤩 That’s a huge thing to celebrate! Somebody liked and bought your product/service! And when you get to 100 clients – woah, that’s a lot of people, you should be happy! 🤗 If your goal is to lose 15kg you should be happy about every single kilogram lots, you should be happy about yourself taking care of yourself, you should be happy now! 😊

Remember, when setting your goal and following your dreams, make sure you’re happy all the way through the process!

How can we weaken temptations and strengthen our will to act? 🤔
Do you know that saying „out of sight, out of mind”? Turns out that scientific researches prove that wisdom when it comes to fighting temptation and empowering willpower! 💪

Brian Wansink, american psychologist did an interesting research with James E. Painter that he describes in his book „Mindless Eating” 🧐

Gentlemen gave their secretaries chocolates 🍫. Some of the sweets were in a box with a see-through lid where they could see all the chocolates and some of the sweets were in a normal not see-through box.

What do you think, which chocolates tempted more to be eaten? 😅 Of course those with a see-through lid. Women that could see the chocolates were tempted 71% times more! They were reaching for chocolates 7,7 times a day while those women who had „hidden” chocolates reached for them only 4,6 times a day 😋.

You see? Out of sight out of mind and it’s not only about sweets of course! If you need to learn or work late don’t do it in front of a TV, better yet, go to some quiet place 🤫, without TV, without any games or non-scientific books in your sight. Turn your phone off and focus on your task.

Now how can we strengthen our will? 🤔 First of all write down a list of reasons WHY do you want to reach your goal, WHY do you want to follow that dream 📝. This so-called Benefit Card will help you a lot in a moment of crisis 😃

If you’re wondering why bother writing them down and you think „I remember them all easily” I’ll surprise you: in moments of lost motivation it is easy to forget why you want to reach your goal that much 😉. When there is a temptation in eyesight (and within reach of a hand), you’re feeling stressed, tired and/or you’re in a bad mood, believe me, those reasons suddenly fly away and it is so hard to remember those 😬

In those kind of situations Benefit Card might come very useful! Carry it with you everday and read it in any moment of weakness.

Have I ever told you the story of how I wanted to work in music industry – to be a tour manager to be exact – and so I dropped everything, I left my family, left my friends and moved to London by myself in 2013? 😀 It was supposed to be for life but it didn’t work out and I moved back to Poland over a year later.

I worked my a** off there. Had 1 full-time job and 3 (!) internships – in a record label, with a band and in an event agency. I learned A LOT and have plenty amazing memories from that time 😍.
It didn’t work out but I TRIED.
It’s not always gonna work out how you wish it would but you find out if it has or hasn’t unless you try!

And sometimes it will work out just like I promised myself I won’t stop until I publish a book I wrote (also in 2013 😅). It took 6 years but I did it!

Follow your dreams no matter what!
Plan the steps you need to take to get what you want, be creative with it and work out plan A, B and even C with different paths to reach it and then work hard on it! 😀

September is a great month to start working on our dreams (according to research it is 2nd best month, after January, when people are most motivated) sooo…starting on September 6th we’ll start new series – Motivational Mondays with Smiley Society! 😉

Take that risk!

You know that saying „Who doesn’t risk, doesn’t drink (blue) champagne”? 😄

Sometimes you just have to take that risk! If not now, when? 🤔 The timing will never be perfect so it is worth to take risk sometimes! 😉

Most of successful entrepreneurs risked it all and e.g. spent all their savings to invest in their business 💰. They took that risk! You either go all in and have enormous effects right away or you can play safe and slowly grow but it will take ages before you really succeed 😉. And remember – you either succeed or learn, there’s no failure here! 🤗

Just have a look at Inspirational Stories I post or read any biography 📖. There are plenty people who have risked it all and they are so happy that they did! 😊

Did you know that I published a book? It wasn’t easy, it took me 7 years, lots of work and I did spend all my savings at the time to have a professional correction, cover designed and 180 copies printed to send out to publishing houses 💸. It may be nothing compared to others entrepreneurs but I did take some risk and it was worth it! 😊

And some day I’m gonna take even bigger risk and will start my own company 😊

Don’t be a chicken!

Don’t be a chicken 🐥 and leave your comfort zone 😁! If you want to achieve something extraordinary (and you probably do as all of us 😅), if you want to be successful (as all of us 😅) or reach your goals you need to leave your comfort zone!

Comfort zone is where you feel safe, where you do everything automatically without any extra thought 🤔 hence when you’re in your comfort zone you don’t learn anything new, you don’t grow! 😏

Do you know that people used to think that human can’t run the distance of 1 mile (1609m) in less than 4 minutes? 🏃‍♂️ So this is what used to be believed as minimum time impossible to get. Best runners in the world have been finishing races with a result of 4 minutes + couple seconds until a British athlete called Roger Bannister left his comfort zone and run that distance in less than 4min in 1954 😎

There are plenty people who are stuck at work doing what they hate but they don’t look for a new job because they’ve been doing it so many years that they can keep doing it 🙄. The truth is they are stuck in their comfort zone. They are scared of changes, of new challenges, of meeting new people and starting from the beginning so they stay where they are.

They prefer to be stuck in a place where they know the people, where they know what to do when they come in to the office, where they no longer have to learn anything 🙄.

They want to be stuck there even though they hate it. 😏 That is not right. You need to overcome this fear of changes, you need to overcome your weaknesses, you need to leave your comfort zone, go out and do what you want! 🤗

Believe me, everybody wants to be in PJs in front of tv, being chilled and not stressing about anything whole day, week, month 😉

But this is not the way to achieve great things.
You need to grow to achieve success but you won’t grow without leaving comfort zone 😉

Do you have your own morning routine? 🤔 Healthy morning routine is one of the things that all successful people have in common 😉.

Plenty celebrities or people of business who’ve reached their goals revealed their secrets that they wake up very early (some of them at 4-5 a.m.) and they always start their day in the same way 😊 – they meditate 🧘🏼‍♀️, they write in their journals ✒, they eat something healthy 🥑, set their affirmations etc. 🤗

Why is it so successful? 🤨 Because depending on your mindset you start your day with, the day can go either so-so or great 😉!

If you set your mindset right, get into positive thinking and start your day with a smile on your face 🙂 you really can achieve more! Thanks to this positive energy you’ll be less stressed and less willing to get annoyed quickly 😉, you’ll be more creative and e.g. when you face a problem you’ll look at it in a different way and will find solution for it quicker 😎, you’ll have more energy to actually work and push your boundaries and so much more! 😀

And what is your morning routine? 🤗 I always start my day with ‘to-do list’ check 🧐 – seeing step by step what needs to be done that day, I drink warm lemon juice with honey 🍋 and get to work 💪! But I gotta admit that I do get up pretty late on weekends 😜 and would love to work on that this year 😅.

2020 sum up + my idea for Smiley Society in January

I hope you had great New Years’s Eve and that even though 2020 has been tough for all of us you can remember couple good things about it and focus on that 🙏

For me positive things about 2020 are:
🌞 I got to work from home that I dreamed of for such a long time 😅
🌞 I bought a camera and got back to taking more pictures, I learned how to edit them better or how to do some ‘tricks’ in Photoshop
🌞 I started working on my 2nd novel
🌞 I grew @smileysociety and got plenty new faces here 😊

Now it’s time for new plans, new dreams and as January usually is a month of new beginnings, new projects and some changes I want to bring you as much motivation as possible!
So starting on Monday there will be:
➡️1-2 inspirational stories per week to show you some stories of people who have succeeded
➡️ motivational excercises in our Smiley Future series on Tuesdays
➡️ healthy recipes on Insta stories for those who start a diet and want to lose weight
➡️ and more!

As for 2021 I have BIG plans for this year. I want to write 2nd novel, do a special ebook (more on that in couple months), go back to University and study psychology and possibly change job. Plus I’m turning 30 this year 😅 so there will be plenty celebrations and a big trip in October 😁

How to be productive

There are plenty different tips on how to be productive, some will work on you and some won’t so you need to test them all and see what’s effective on you! 😊

This is what works for me
🔸️ Planning
➡️ First of all when I set my goal I visualise me succeeding to be even more pumped/motivated 🤩
➡️ I write down a list of steps I need to take to reach my goal. The more you break your goal into smaller steps the better.
➡️ I open my calendar and assign each step to some date. 1 step a day (or even a week if those are bigger steps) should be enough.

Once I have my goal divided into smaller steps and each step planned for a specific date/period of time I know what and when I have to do 🤓. Focus on that step only, don’t think what comes next.

🔸️Taking the steps
I work on my projects/goals after my regular work so those are my advices for people who have goals outside their work life/career (or want to make those goals their new career 😉)
➡️ Don’t take long breaks and don’t get too comfortable, you’ll lose whole will to work 😅
The hardest part is to start so once I finish regular job, I eat dinner and go straight to my projects. („I’ll rest, see 1 episode of my favourite show and I’ll get to work” almost never works 😅). I try to stay „pumped” after work to do more and more.
➡️ If you do need a break between work and projects go for a walk or, even better, workout! Physical activity will boost your mind and release endorphins so you’ll feel better and will be pumped to work! 😁
➡️ Tick off every little thing you’ve done from your ‘TO DO’ list. Even if it’s a really small thing that took you 1 minute – tick it off ✔ the more ticks you’ll get the better you’ll feel
➡️ If you haven’t managed to do everything from your ‘TO DO’ list just open your calendar, assign a new date for the steps that you’ve got left 📅
➡️ Once again go throught the list of things you did manage to do, you’ll see how productive you’ve been! 🤗
➡️ Have a well-deserved rest 😊

Unless you want to be taller/shorter/younger (which sadly is impossible to get 🤷🏼‍♀️) or a sibling of someone special (I wanted to be Britney Spears’ sister when I was little 😂😅) ANYTHING is possible! 💪

There are SO MANY examples of people who dreamed big, worked for it and got what they wanted! 😍 It is so incredible for me e.g. how @adamlambert was a huge Queen fan and now he sings for them 🎙! Or how @aidanrgallagher was a big My Chemical Romance fan and now start in a tv show based on MCR’s frontman comics („Umbrella Academy” ☂️). Or how my mentor @chodakowskaewa used to work at a gas station washing car windows and now she is a celebrity and a multi millionaire…💰💰💰

Are those people some extraordinary humans? 🤔 No!
Is their day longer and they have more time to follow their dreams? 🧐 No!
Were they given something that you don’t have? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe. But you may have something they don’t 😉

The only thing that makes them stand out and got them to where they are today is that they believed in their dream, believed in themselves and worked hard for it! 💪

I wanted to have my book published, it took lots of effort, required lots of patience 😅 but after 7 years I made it happen last year and now it may even become a movie! 🤩

Believe me, good plan + hard work + persistance + patience = success! 😎
