Try bringing some relaxation into your home and create a spa-like experience 😍! Time to make DIY Bath Bombs 💥
Ingredients (for 4 balls):
🔸️100g bicarbonate of soda
🔸️50g citric acid
🔸️25g Epsom salt (optional)
🔸️2 tbsp oil – such as sunflower, coconut or olive oil
🔸️¼ tsp essential oil, such as orange, lavender or chamomile
🔸️a few drops of liquid food colouring
🔸️orange peel, lavender or rose petals, to decorate (optional) 🍊
➡️ Put the bicarbonate of soda, citric acid, cornflour and Epsom salt in a bowl, then whisk until fully combined 😁
➡️ Pour the base oil, essential oil and food colouring in a small bowl. Mix together well, combining the oil with the colouring as much as possible.
➡️ Very slowly add the oil mixture into the dry ingredients a little at a time, whisking between each addition.
➡️ When all the oil is added, add a few tiny drops of water and whisk again (it will fizz when you add the water, so mix it in quickly). You’re looking for the mixture to slightly clump together when pressed in your hand and keep its shape – it shouldn’t be too wet.
➡️ If you’re adding peel or flower petals to decorate, drop them into the bottom of your chosen mould*. Pack your mixture tightly on top, pressing down and smoothing out the top with a teaspoon.
➡️ Leave your bath bomb in the mould* to dry for 2-4 hrs, then carefully remove it. It’s now ready to drop into the bath – watch it fizz away!
*What can I use as a bath bomb mould? 🤔
You can use anything flexible as a mould for your bath bombs, so have fun looking around your home for things you could use. Here are some ideas to get you started:
🔸️Yogurt or pudding pots
🔸️Christmas tree decorations (we used a star)
🔸️Plastic packaging from toys
🔸️Easter egg packaging
🔸️Silicone ice cube trays
🔸️Silicone cupcake cases
🔸️Plastic biscuit cutters (place them on a tray)
Don’t be a chicken 🐥 and leave your comfort zone 😁! If you want to achieve something extraordinary (and you probably do as all of us 😅), if you want to be successful (as all of us 😅) or reach your goals you need to leave your comfort zone!
Comfort zone is where you feel safe, where you do everything automatically without any extra thought 🤔 hence when you’re in your comfort zone you don’t learn anything new, you don’t grow! 😏
Do you know that people used to think that human can’t run the distance of 1 mile (1609m) in less than 4 minutes? 🏃♂️ So this is what used to be believed as minimum time impossible to get. Best runners in the world have been finishing races with a result of 4 minutes + couple seconds until a British athlete called Roger Bannister left his comfort zone and run that distance in less than 4min in 1954 😎
There are plenty people who are stuck at work doing what they hate but they don’t look for a new job because they’ve been doing it so many years that they can keep doing it 🙄. The truth is they are stuck in their comfort zone. They are scared of changes, of new challenges, of meeting new people and starting from the beginning so they stay where they are.
They prefer to be stuck in a place where they know the people, where they know what to do when they come in to the office, where they no longer have to learn anything 🙄.
They want to be stuck there even though they hate it. 😏 That is not right. You need to overcome this fear of changes, you need to overcome your weaknesses, you need to leave your comfort zone, go out and do what you want! 🤗
Believe me, everybody wants to be in PJs in front of tv, being chilled and not stressing about anything whole day, week, month 😉
But this is not the way to achieve great things.
You need to grow to achieve success but you won’t grow without leaving comfort zone 😉
Admit it, how many times during a weekend you think of Monday and you feel scared and angry already? 🤬 Got you! 😉 In the next few steps we’ll practice empowering your attitude that can improve quality of your life and increase your happiness 🤩.
And that attitude is gratitude so feeling satisfied and appreciating what you’ve got (or not), what surrounds you and what you experience 🤗.
Human tendency to notice negatives 👀 and danger 💥 can be explained by evolution – this perceptivity saved our ancestors plenty times yet complaining is something more 🙄.
Constant complaining is a habit. Good news is that – as every habit – you can work on it and habit of complaining can be replaced with gratitude 😉.
You’re probably wondering what it has to do with strong will and perseverance? 🤔
🔅Lowers stress (and that empowers willpower, remember?) 📉
🔅 Lowers tension, levels excessive expectations and frustration (that can lead to total giving up on your goal at first obstacle) 🙏
🔅 Helps noticing small successes and strong points that empowers motivation and perseverance 🎯
As Robert Emmons and Robin Stern say „Clinical trials show that practicing gratitude can have dramatic and lasting positive effects on a person’s life. It can reduce blood pressure, improve immunity, promote happiness and life satisfaction, generate behaviors such as helping others, generosity and cooperation. Additionally, gratitude reduces the risk of depression, anxiety and addiction” 🤩
Have I convinced you? Let’s start our today’s task 😉:
➡️ How often do you feel gratitude?
➡️ What are you grateful for?
➡️ Is feeling grateful dificult or easy for you?
Next week: Practicing gratitude – excercise 🙏

Groundbreaking research from the University of South Australia confirms that the act of smiling can trick your mind into happiness, simply by how you move your facial muscles 😀.
The new study evaluated the impact of a convert smile on two situations: perceptions of face and body expressions 🤔. ➡️In both situations a smile was induced by participants holding a pen between their teeth 😬, forcing their facial muscles to replicate the movement of a smile while a comparison group didn’t hold a pen.
➡️Both groups were shown a range of facial expressions (from frowns to smiles) and a series of body movements (from „sad walking” videos to „happy walking” videos).
➡️Under the „pen-in-the-teeth” conditio, the forced „smiling” facial position caused the participants to interpret the facial muscles and body movements of others as more positive, compared to the „no-pen” group 😉.
When participants forced a smile, it stimulated the amygdala – the emotional brain center 🧠, which is turn released neurotransmitters to encourage an emotionally positive state 🤗
According to the Chief investigator, Dr Fernando Marmolejo-Ramos „When your muscles say you’re happy, you’re more likely to see the world around you in a positive way” 🤩.
He concludes that if the brain can be tricked into perceiving stimulation as happy, this mechanism could be used to boost mental health conditions such as reducing anxiety or depression 😊
Remember – keep smiling! 😊😁😀😆😄😃😉🙂

➡️ 1. Read everyday 📖 – even 15-20min of reading a day can do the trick! You can always learn something new from any book, either some interesting fact about some culture, some historical fact or maybe some new word? 😉
➡️ 2. Play games 🀄 – Brain fitness programs and games are a wonderful way to tease and challenge your brain. Sudoku, crosswords and electronic games can all improve your brain’s speed and memory. I highly recommend Lumosity app! 🤗
➡️ 3. Excercise on a weekly basis 💪 – healthy body = healthy mind! 😉 When working out you make your heart work faster which stimulates better blood circulation and brings more oxygen to your body and brain 🧠. It boosts your memory, improves your concentration, enhances your creativity etc! 🤗
➡️ 4. Get out of the comfort zone 💥 – when leaving your comfort zone you need to start thinking, you end up in a new situation, need to be creative, learn new skills etc. Great way to make your brain work! 😊
➡️ 5. Take time to meditate 🧘🏼♀️ – daily meditation is perhaps the single greatest thing you can do for your mind/body health 😊. Meditation not only relaxes you, it gives your brain a workout. By creating a different mental state, you engage your brain in new and interesting ways while increasing your brain fitness 🤩
➡️ 6. Keep learning new skills 📈 – learning a new skill works multiple areas of the brain. Your memory comes into play, you learn new movements and you associate things differently 😊. Reading Shakespeare, learning to cook and building an airplane out of toothpicks all will challenge your brain and give you something to think about 😁
Which one is your favourite?
Time for last excercise in our mindfullness series 🧘🏼♀️ – careful submergence. The purpose of this exercise is to cultivate the satisfaction of being here and now 🙏 and to avoid constant feeling of struggle (or boredom) that overwhelms us everyday 😉.
Instead of waiting for the end of boring routine tasks 🙄 in order to do something differnt, try experiencing that routine in a totally new way 🤩.
For example, when you’re cleaning the house 💨 bring your attention to every little detail of different activities: feel the smooth moves while vacuuming 💫, feel your muscles work while washing the dishes 💥, notice what the objects you touch look like 👀, what do they feel like etc.
This whole excercise is about fresh new creative look on activities well-known to you and experiencing them in a totally new way instead of treating them as a burdensome obstacle standing on your way to the next tasks 🤗.
If you want you can choose another routine activity instead of cleaning of course 😉. But who knows, maybe even cleaning will turn out to be a fun experience? Try it out! 🤗
Write down your reflections and conclusions after this excercise 📝
Next week: Do you feel gratitude?

➡️ 1. Get tired physically 💪
Not only it is scientifically proven that we’re more creative when we’re tired 😴 but a research has also shown that physical exercise helps to force you to adopt a more creative mindset using the right half of the brain 🧠. Exercise also increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain, which sharpen mental clarity.
➡️ 2. Embrace boredom 😳
Try putting social media, TV and all devices away. Get bored on purpose 🙄. Just lay down and let your mind wander 😍. A research shows that being bored actually propels us towards deeper thinking and creativity 🤯. The theory goes that a bored mind searches for stimulation, which moves it into the daydreaming state, which leads to new ideas 😎.
➡️ 3. Watch a TED talk or listen to a podcast 🎙
Nothing makes me more creative than being motivated by seeing others succeed! 🤩 And where to find that motivation, listen to successful people talk? Try any TED talk and you will be amazed! 😉
➡️ 4. Generate way more ideas than you think you actually need ☺
People who are able to generate a lot of ideas (good and not-so-good) are much more likely to have a couple of brilliant ideas hidden in the mix than those who only come up with a couple of ideas to begin with 👍. Block out time for free writing and come up with as many ideas around a problem as your brain can generate, even if they seem silly. As Thomas Edison said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.”
5. Make time to play 🎪
Studies show that when we fully immerse ourself in just doing what we enjoy — in other words, getting out of our own heads — it stimulates outside-the-box thinking and silences our inner critic 😊. Tinker with toys, build something, get outside… and most importantly, think like a kid! 😀
