Cheers to health!

I love reading inspirational stories/bios of successful people 🀩. I love getting to know how they got to the place where they are. And I often read that some of those who succeeded and are millionaires todayπŸ’° had to sacrifice it all to get there πŸ˜”. That they had to put their work first, that they worked 16-18h a day/ 7 days a week. That they put family and friends aside to work work work 😌.

I am ALL about following dreams, working hard etc πŸ€—. I think you know me that well already and you know that I work a lot πŸ˜‰. I’ve always had some ‘extra projects’ (having some extra jobs, being a coordinator in a students volunteer society πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“, having a music agency and booking gigs for 5 bands 🎢, writing and publishing a book πŸ“–, now this blog…) since I turned 16. I never was this kind of person who comes back from school/work and just chills πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

BUT
I could never pay such price as putting my family aside or putting health over work/my projects πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.
Maybe that’s why I’m not as successful as others 😬 but I prefer to have a long and healthy life full of laughs and love ❀ instead of just working till I hit a burnout πŸ™„.

That’s why I stepped aside a bit in January. As you may know I didn’t feel good most of the time and didn’t want to do something ‘because I HAVE TO’. I just waited for my energy to come back to me.

The choice whether you choose work over all or you choose a bit slower life is yours but make sure that it is good for you 😘

We live in crazy times where everybody is in a rush, everybody wants to be the best at something 😬. Some people risk it all to get what they want. Is it worth it though? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I’ve heard some people say that in order to be successful you need to totally limit your time off and focus on work 😢. That you need to drop Netflix, drop the time with your loved ones and spend every minute of your day self-evolving 😏 That instead of watching a tv show on Netflix in the evening you should focus on broadening your skills, your knowledge and read a book πŸ“–

I understand that in order to succeed you need to work hard and I totally agree with that πŸ‘ I highly encourage everybody to self-evolve, to learn new skills… sure, that too ☝️. But to limit your time off? πŸ˜• To never watch Netflix (apart from the fact that you can always learn something from a tv show/movie/documentary πŸ™„)? To never have propper leisure time? πŸ˜’

There needs to be balanceβš–. Not only you NEED TO REST regularly in order to rebuild your energy to work, to get new ideas 🀩, to stay fresh πŸ™‚ but if you work your ass off and never rest you’ll lose your motivation, lose your will to work and it will all become a torture for you and in the end when you succeed it won’t bring you any joy 😏

Another example are people who want to lose weight or muscle up and they work out every day or even twice a day πŸ™„. That ain’t the way to do it 🚫. Muscles grow on your rest days! You need at least 1 day break from working out a week for the body to recharge and for your muscles to grow.

You should make sure that there’s heathy balance βš– in every part of your life:
Between work πŸ’» & rest 🎬
Between working out πŸ’ͺ& regeneration πŸ§–β€β™€οΈ
Between your career πŸ‘©β€πŸ’» & private life πŸ’ƒ
Between the time you’ve got for others πŸ‘₯ and time you’ve got for yourself πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Between physical development πŸ’ͺ and mental development 🧠
Between caring about what’s important ⚠️ and ignoring what’s not 🚫
Healthy balance is the key, believe me πŸ˜‰
