Healthy balance

You know what’s one of my main rules in life? Healthy balance about EVERYTHING 😉

We live in crazy times where everybody is in a rush, everybody wants to be the best at something 😬. Some people risk it all to get what they want. Is it worth it though? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve heard some people say that in order to be successful you need to totally limit your time off and focus on work 😶. That you need to drop Netflix, drop the time with your loved ones and spend every minute of your day self-evolving 😏 That instead of watching a tv show on Netflix in the evening you should focus on broadening your skills, your knowledge and read a book 📖

I understand that in order to succeed you need to work hard and I totally agree with that 👍 I highly encourage everybody to self-evolve, to learn new skills… sure, that too ☝️. But to limit your time off? 😕 To never watch Netflix (apart from the fact that you can always learn something from a tv show/movie/documentary 🙄)? To never have propper leisure time? 😒

There needs to be balance⚖. Not only you NEED TO REST regularly in order to rebuild your energy to work, to get new ideas 🤩, to stay fresh 🙂 but if you work your ass off and never rest you’ll lose your motivation, lose your will to work and it will all become a torture for you and in the end when you succeed it won’t bring you any joy 😏

Another example are people who want to lose weight or muscle up and they work out every day or even twice a day 🙄. That ain’t the way to do it 🚫. Muscles grow on your rest days! You need at least 1 day break from working out a week for the body to recharge and for your muscles to grow.

You should make sure that there’s heathy balance ⚖ in every part of your life:
Between work 💻 & rest 🎬
Between working out 💪& regeneration 🧖‍♀️
Between your career 👩‍💻 & private life 💃
Between the time you’ve got for others 👥 and time you’ve got for yourself 🧘🏼‍♀️
Between physical development 💪 and mental development 🧠
Between caring about what’s important ⚠️ and ignoring what’s not 🚫
Healthy balance is the key, believe me 😉

I’ll be happy when…

„I’ll be happy when…”
Is that thought stuck with you? 😏 Do you keep thinking that you’ll be happy when something happens? 😬 Or when you’ll accomplish something? 🤔

I used to think that way. I kept saying to myself „I’ll be happy when I lose weight” 💪, „I’ll be happy when I publish my book” 📕, „I’ll be happy when I get married 👰”.

And you know what? It doesn’t work that way 🤷🏼‍♀️
Happiness isn’t some kind of a prize 🏆 that comes when you do what you have to do 🙄. You can lose weight, get married and reach all your dreams and still won’t be happy 😞. It’s about your mindset ⚠️

If you keep thinking „I’ll be happy when…” this happiness will always be somewhere in the future ➡️, it will be always ahead of you and you’ll never catch up 😧.
:::
You need to find a way to be happy NOW ⚠️. Even when you haven’t achieved your goal, even if you’re e.g. losing weight and got still some kgs to lose 😅, be happy on your way to success 🔜.

What if you’ll never get what you want (sorry to break it to you but it might happen)? 🤔 What if you keep saying to yourself „I’ll be happy when…” and the ‘when’ never comes and you’ll just lose weeks, months or years waiting for that happiness 😱?

It’s not something that will come to you. It’s not like you’ll wake up one day after reaching your goal and think „wow, I’m happy now” 😉. You need to change your mindset ⚠️

Start thinking and focusing on HERE & NOW ⬇️. Start seeing, like actually seeing 👀, what you have, what you’ve done ☺.

Start being happy about the little things 😉. Instead of thinking „I’ll be happy when I reach my goal” be happy that you’ve started working on that goal 🤗, be happy with every step you take to reach it, be happy about every little obstacle you’ve defeated 💪.

SELF-LOVE: 10 Ways to Be Kind to Yourself

1. Invest in yourself 🤗
Spend 15-30min in the morning or evening reading, listening to or watching material that uplifts you, that helps you to understand yourself

2. Find the truth and exception when an inner or outer critic attacks 😏
Your own inner critic may not always say nice things about you 🤷🏼‍♀️ People around you may attack you to serve one of their own needs 🙄
If this happens, ask yourself this question:
What is the exception to this? 🤔
E.g. if you or someone says that you are not doing a good job in school then you can find answers that tell you that it isn’t really true 😊

3. Unstress tonight 🧖‍♀️
Take a long bath and read something to escape. Or work out 💪

4. Take just 2min in the morning or evening to appreciate yourself 🤗
Sit down & ask yourself:
What are 3 things I can appreciate about myself? 🤔

5. Mediocre day? Take 1 small step forward towards something positive 🤗
If your day feels mediocre take 1 small step towards something positive to breathe new hope and optimism into your day & week

6. Be kinder towards others ❤
The way you think about & treat others is often the way you think about and treat yourself 😉

7. If you stumble, be your own best friend 😊
Don’t beat yourself up, that will erode your self-esteem. Be a kind and supportive friend to yourself.
Ask yourself: How would my friend/parent support me and help me in this situation? 🤔

8. Take a laugh-break 😂
Take 5-10 min.
Watch a funny clip or a half an episode of a sitcom you know makes you laugh

9. Remember, the future is still in your hands. And it is never too late to change 😉
Think about what you really want in the rest of your life.

10. Simply remind yourself of why it is smart to be kind to yourself 🤗
By reminding yourself of benefits such as better real life results, more perseverance, higher self-esteem, more inner happiness and stillness it becomes easier to stay kind to yourself through life’s natural ups and downs 😉

In order to make your life colorful you need to break your routine 😉 Being organized and having everything planned is cool and you know I am all for it but you need to get crazy sometimes too! 😜

Be spontaneous! Drop that mop on a Saturday and instead of spending whole day cleaning your house call your friends and go bowling 🎳, to an aquapark 🏄‍♂️ or even for a roadtrip if possible! 🚙
:::
Go to your favourite restaurant but skip you favourite meals and order something new 🤩! You won’t get to know new tastes and maybe even find you new favourite dish if you won’t be trying new things! 😉
:::
And it works same way in life! Do something new! Take up a new hobby! 🤹‍♂️ Start some new course! 📚 Join some association and meet new people! 👥

Best memories are made when you leave your comfort zone and do something new, even if it’s scary, believe me! ☺

Adventages of covid/lockdown situation

This year has been tough to all of us, for sure. We’ve been scared 😖, we’ve been anxious 🤯, we’ve been sad 😞, heartbroken of cancelled plans 💔 etc etc.

But maybe there are some advantages of this situation too? 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’ve talked about it some time ago that Covid-19/lockdown taught us to appreciate what we got 🙏, taught us to appreciate our health and family ❤, it made us slow down and live day by day.
:::
But now, couple months later, I see some other adventages too 😀 We all were forced (in a way) to get to know our countries more, to travel within our borders 😁. You know the saying „the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence” 🌱– but what if it isn’t? What if you haven’t looked at your grass properly? ☺

I’ve heard/seen so many stories even here, on instagram, of Polish people who always travel abroad for holidays and because of Covid-19 they were forced to stay in Poland for the summer so they visited some cities they’ve never been to and were totally charmed!😍
:::
I’ve read about an American girl who always goes to Greece for the summer and this year she couldn’t so she ended up doing a trip around the US visiting some of the states she’s never been to before and she fell in love with her own country! 🤩

Another positive example is how this whole lockdown showed us that so many things can be done online 📩, that people don’t need to meet face to face all the time and e.g. go for a conference to another continent every couple months 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Even at my work they kept telling us that we can’t work from home, that it is not possible to make it happen system-wise as we wouldn’t be able to use our systems from home and wouldn’t have access to common disks/folders 📂. Covid-19 happened and suddenly it was all possible and I’ve been working from home for 5 months now 😅

I’m not saying that 2020 is a good year and that it is all great, of course it’s not. But let’s try and see some positives! 😊

Healthy eating will make you happier

Do you know that healthy eating will make you feel lighter and actually happier? 🤗 The more „heavy”, unhealthy things you eat the more energy your organism need to burn it, which makes you feel heavy and tired 😴

In 2016, researchers found that a diet with a high glycemic load may cause increased symptoms of depression and fatigue. A diet with a high glycemic load includes many refined carbohydrates, such as those found in soft drinks 🥤, cakes 🍰, white bread 🍞, and biscuits 🍪 . Vegetables 🥦, fruit 🍓, and whole grains 🥪 have a lower glycemic load.

Healthy food will also make your mind work better 🧠 & will improve your memory especially if you eat healthy fats like Omega-3 which you can find in avocados 🥑, nuts 🥜 or fish 🐟.

Light and nutritional meals will also improve your sleep 💤. If you eat a lot before going to bed or you eat something „heavy” your organism will spend the night digesting it instead of resting! 😟

I don’t think I have to tell you that eating good nutritional meals will also improve your health 💪. Your stamina will get better, your immune system will be stronger, you will reduce cancer risk, prevent any heart attacks and/or strokes! You have no idea how important is to eat well in order to live long healthy life! 😉

And most obvious reason – weight loss ⚖. Of course not everybody wants to lose weight but if you do eating healthy should be your 1st step! And once you do lose weight you’ll feel more confident, better with yourself, more willing to act and basically happier! 🤗

Self-criticism

Are you often criticizing yourself? 🤔 Always unhappy with your accomplishments? Furious about failures? 🙄

First of all you need to lower your expectations ⚠️. We all tend to challenge ourselves more than others, which is good in a way but you need to know the limit.
:::
When you fail to do something or do something wrong and you start pulling your hair and are furious think if you’d react same way if your friend had done it 😉
Would you shout at him/her, feel being let down etc? Or you’d pat them on a shoulder, smile and say „That’s ok, you’ll do it tomorrow” or „That’s fine, you’ll do it right next time”? 😊

You should say same thing to yourself. If it wouldn’t be a big deal for another person it shouldn’t be a big deal if you’d done it. Treat yourself right. ⚠️

Second of all, we tend to focus only/mainly on failures and stop seeing what we’ve accomplished 🤷🏼‍♀️. We get angry with ourselves for not doing something and we forget about all the other things we’ve managed to do. For example, you get mad because you haven’t wokred out and you ate something unhealthy and suddenly forgot that you’ve managed to workout and eat healthy other 6 days of the week.

It’s ok to have one bad day and you shouldn’t feel bad about it. Focus on other 6 good days 😉

If you feel like you’re criticizing yourself too much and you’re never happy with your work try writing down every evening 2-3 things you’ve managed to do that day ✒📄.

But remember! If you’ve tried to do something and failed that should still go on the list! 😉 It means you TRIED and that’s the most important thing. Most people don’t even get to that step 😉

Happy month!

You’ve probably already heard me saying „It’s all about mindset”, right?
Well, it is! 😉

You don’t have much impact on what is happening in the world 🤷🏼‍♀️ You can’t force some people to like you and say only nice things about you 🤷🏼‍♀️. Facts you hear in the news are facts and opinions that people share are their opinions and you can’t change them. But it is your decision what you’re gonna do with it 👊.

You can either let somebody’s opinion disturb you and make you feel bad or you can ignore it.
It’s your decision, your mindset.

You can either think about your day/week/life in negative light or look at it through pink glasses and notice only positive/good parts of it 🤗.
It’s your decision, your mindset.

When you’re stuck at home now you can either look at it as a punishment and keep thinking of the things you cannot do these days or you can look at it as an opportunity to finally work on your projects 😉, to get back to reading 📖 now that you don’t have any distractions or events to go to, to finally start a new hobby you’ve always didn’t have time for 👩‍🍳.
It’s your decision, your mindset.

When you lose a job you can either become devastated, think of yourself as a loser and keep worrying 😫 or you can see it as a push to finally look for something better, to get the courage to get your dream job which you’ve always lacked in your previous job 💪

There’s no easy job and there’s no easy life without problems 🤷🏼‍♀️ The key is to always find good aspects and being grateful for the litthe things ❤. To decide to ignore/set aside the sad/dark/difficult stuff and focus on the good ones 🙏

Cherish little things

Have you stopped for a second and looked up the sky? 👀Morning skies in December are my favourite 😍. Always so pink (at least in Europe) and you don’t have to get up at 4-5am to see a sunrise 😅.

Have you stopped for a second to smell fresh air 👃? To breathe in slowly and relax?
:::
Have you eaten your dinner today and actually saw what you’re eating? Have you thought what it tasted like? 😋 Or you just “threw it” into your stomach?
:::
Just stop and cherish little things 🙏.
We are all in such rush, especially now before Xmas, that we keep missing all the little cute details. We take them all for granted 🛑.
:::
I know we put more and more tasks on ourselves, we all want to achieve more and be successful but we need to stop to breathe from time to time 😅. To rest. To gain perspective. To get new ideas. To breathe 🤫. Especially now, during the Holidays.
:::
Please use that time to rest and to regain gratitude for basic values – good weather, color of the sky, lovely time with family, delicious food ❤.

Remember

Remember, your age doesn’t define your maturity, your grades don’t define your intelligence and rumours don’t define who you are! ⚠️
And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Do grades matter if somebody years later can’t be independent, doesn’t know how to do basic things in life, can’t cook, doesn’t understand taxes and have no idea about other countries and their culture? 🤷🏼‍♀️
:::
People pay big attention to numbers starting with grades at school, with your age and how you act on it and then with your salary 🤷🏼‍♀️. But can we really judge people by that? Can we really tell if somebody is good and smart if he had good grades in school? Can we assume somebody is a good person if he earns a lot? Of course not. 🛑
:::
It is (or should be!) about what we have in our hearts, about what we say around people and/or about how we act towards somebody in need. Isn’t that most important? To just be a good human being? 🤗 And there’s no number on it. 😉
:::
And the last part – rumours. NEVER listen to what people say about you behind your back. 🛑 If they do spread rumours about you, you can only be proud because you probably did something they didn’t and they’re simply jealous 😉

Forget the numbers, ignore the rumours and just be your best self! ⚠️🤗
