➡️ 1. Everything I knew about Mexican food was a lie 😬. Mexicans don’t eat burritos (they do only in the north part), they don’t eat quesadillas or tacos as we know it – this is all Tex-Mex cuisine, not traditional Mexican food 😉. Mexican cuisine is not that hot 😉, there’s less bean & corn I’d thought there’d be and there’s plenty seafood! 🦐
Dishes I got to know there:
🔸️Cochinita Pibil (shredded pork stew)
🔸️Mole (sauce made from dried chilies, tomatoes, chocolate, seeds & spices)
🔸️Flautas (traditional Mexican tacos made with rolled corn tortilla and filled with mashed potato, cheese, chicken, etc.)
➡️ 2. Mayans are still very much alive and there will be a seperate post about them 😃
➡️ 3. Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead 💀, is a beautiful holiday celebrated on Nov 1st & 2nd. Those are colorul and happy days because Mexicans believe that the souls of their close ones who have passed away come to earth to visit them ☺. Families set altars (like this one on the photo) with a photo of a lost one, fruit 🍌, special sweet bread they bake for that occasion called Pan de Muerto, characteristic orange flowers called cempasuchil 🏵 & something that this family member liked – e.g. some book, guitar etc. Later, they go to the cemetary bringing treats and they spend whole day at the grave talking, laughing and being close to their lost one ❤
➡️ 4. If you get a gift like a sugar skull with your name on it or they’ll give you some miniature coffins saying „those are for your family” it does not mean they wish you death and that they don’t like you! 🤭 This is a gift from the heart and you should accept it!
➡️ 5. Apart from tequila & hot peppers 🌶, Mexico is a big exporter of chewing gum as this is made from the tree that grows there!
➡️ 6. Yukatan peninsula is a big land that arised from the ocean when meteorite hit the Earth – this is why this land is totally flat (the highest peek of Yukatan peninsula is… 235 m above the sea 😳) and there are no rivers!
➡️ 7. Mexicans are sweet and loving people! 🥰
➡️ 8. It’s not a poor country!
I honestly fell in love with Mexico ❤
This year has been tough 😖, not only Covid-wise but I’ve been robbed & tricked recently 🙄, my grandma passed away 🖤, I’ve lost some friends 💔, I’ve had plenty days when I felt powerless…
I cried a lot, been shuting everything away and been hiding at home 😶
But I’m not telling you all this to make you feed sorry for me, no no. I’m telling you all this to show you that happy & positive people aren’t people without problems 😉. Happy & positive people are positive DESPITE their problems 💪
Everyone has some problems, each one of us is battling with something but the key is to not give up, to get through it and stand up wiser and stronger 💪.
I know I have learned a lot through my last experiences and definitely won’t make some mistakes again. You should learn from your problems and/or mistakes too! 😀

Just focus on the positive, throw some strawberries 😜 and enjoy life! 😊
Time for summing up 🤩. It is a very important moment, in which you should pay full attention. Why? 🤔 Because every path leading to a long-term goal is about learning something new 🤗. You find out plenty new things about yourself, you have a change to draw conclusions from your strong and weak points, successes, mistakes and failures.
Let’s start summing up with analyzing success and strong points. Answer those questions:
➡️ What have you acomplished during this challenge?
➡️ What new habits, tools or knowledge have you started using in practice?
➡️ What have you managed to do?
➡️ How close did you get to reaching goal? Where were you in the begging of this challenge and where are you now?
➡️ What advantages and strong points do you notice now, from time perspective? Maybe you’ve managed to discover or appreciate more some of your resources (internal or external) that you haven’t seen before?
Second part of summing up is about mistakes, failures and mishaps that have come along the way and thank to which you can learn new things about yourself 😉. Remember to avoid excessive self-criticism and blaming yourself. You’re doing this summing up in order to uses this experience and learn from it 👍. Be good to yourself and understanding. Remember: the only person who doesn’t make mistakes is a person who doesn’t do anything at all! 😉
Answer those questions:
➡️ What was hard, what have you not managed to achieve? Why did you think it happened?
➡️ What knowledge have you gained because of it?
➡️ What discoveries about yourself will be useful in the future, while reaching other goals?
➡️ What did your difficulties come from? What helped or what could help next time?
In the end thank yourself for the perseverance and courage 🙏. Thanks to it you try, you make mistakes and learn new things about yourself in order to take another step forward ➡️

➡️ 1. Read everyday 📖 – even 15-20min of reading a day can do the trick! You can always learn something new from any book, either some interesting fact about some culture, some historical fact or maybe some new word? 😉
➡️ 2. Play games 🀄 – Brain fitness programs and games are a wonderful way to tease and challenge your brain. Sudoku, crosswords and electronic games can all improve your brain’s speed and memory. I highly recommend Lumosity app! 🤗
➡️ 3. Excercise on a weekly basis 💪 – healthy body = healthy mind! 😉 When working out you make your heart work faster which stimulates better blood circulation and brings more oxygen to your body and brain 🧠. It boosts your memory, improves your concentration, enhances your creativity etc! 🤗
➡️ 4. Get out of the comfort zone 💥 – when leaving your comfort zone you need to start thinking, you end up in a new situation, need to be creative, learn new skills etc. Great way to make your brain work! 😊
➡️ 5. Take time to meditate 🧘🏼♀️ – daily meditation is perhaps the single greatest thing you can do for your mind/body health 😊. Meditation not only relaxes you, it gives your brain a workout. By creating a different mental state, you engage your brain in new and interesting ways while increasing your brain fitness 🤩
➡️ 6. Keep learning new skills 📈 – learning a new skill works multiple areas of the brain. Your memory comes into play, you learn new movements and you associate things differently 😊. Reading Shakespeare, learning to cook and building an airplane out of toothpicks all will challenge your brain and give you something to think about 😁

Today’s last part of „Be good to yourself” series.
Do you remember when we talked about factors that weaken your strong will? 🤔 It was stress and tiredness and lately we’ve been talking a lot about the danger of treating yourself badly and punishing (and getting into a trap of „everything or nothing” thinking” ⚠️).
That’s why sometimes in order to rebuild and strengthen strong will you need rest, regeneration and pleasures that will give you energy and motivation to work 🤗.
Task for today: Make a list of your ways of relax and pleasures. It is important so that they wouldn’t be contradictory to your goal (so e.g. don’t write on your list „eating huge pizza” or „eating chocolate cookies” when your goal is to eat healthy 😉).
It might be an evening with a good book 📖 or a movie 🎬, talk or meeting with a friend 💬, relaxing bath 🛀, walk around the neighbourhood 🏞, playing with dog 🐶, relaxing yoga session etc. 🧘🏼♀️

Do you ever punish yourself? For eating something that you shouldn’t have, skipping training, making mistake…? 🤔
I know that this topic isn’t pleasant but if it does happen I highly encourage you to work on it 💪.
Have a look how you find reaching your goal. Do you find it as a war – with yourself, external obstacles? 🤔 If yes then there’s risk that you’ll end up in an eternal fight with yourself and you’ll see every mistake as losing 😫. What comes next you might be even punishing yourself with bad words like „I am horrible”, strict refusing any small awards/pleasures or doing something as a punishment 😖
So as strongwill wouldn’t break down and your desire/fighting for your goal would become a part of your everyday life, part of your lifestyle you need: patience, indulgence and will to act which doesn’t come with permament tension and fear of losing.
Task for today: instead of treating realising your goal as a fight or „good” and „bad” actions try to look at it as a process of learning 🤓.
You know those cute videos on YouTube of little kids learning how to walk? 😍 They fall down, get up and keep trying again and again – often with a smile on their faces! 🤗 Mistakes and slips are inseparable part of learning anything. And making new habits is nothing but learning.
Try reformulating critical thoughts to a thought beneficial to learning. E.g. instead of telling yourself „I am lazy because I didn’t work out” it could be „I found out about myself that if I don’t work out in the morning I am too tired after work. I’ll rearrange my plan of a day.”
Now write another examples down so you could use them in the future.

🔸️Gratitude (@gratefulness.me) is a great app for building gratitude and affirmations. It works like a journal where you add what you’re grateful for daily. After a week or a month you have a whole list of things you can be grateful for – great to have on a bad day! 🤗
🔸️My Affirmations is a beautifuly done app for affirmations only BUT you get to say them out loud 🎙. In the app you’ll find various affirmations divided into categories. After you pick your affirmations you get to record yourself and in the end you can play a nice presentation with amazing pictures, calm music and your own voice saying amazing things about you! 🤗Pretty incredible presentation to have when you’re feeling down!
🔸️CBT Thought Diary is an app that works basically like a diary where you can keep on track with your thoughts, emotions and moods.
🔸️ThinkUp (@thinkupapp) is very similar to My Affirmations but with wider choice of affirmations to choose from.
🔸️21 Days Challenge (@21daysapp) is an app for building new healthy habits! You’ll find 11 challenges there for new habits in sections like: Mental wellness, Sleep schedule, Self care, Gratitude, Productivity, Happiness or No Junk Food. Each challenge has 21 steps with 21 different tasks for each day! 😁
🔸️Focusly (@focuslyapp) is a great app for meditation, fighting stress and calming yourself e.g. before sleep. There’s many meditation sessions divided into couple different types and plenty interesting articles.
🔸️Fabulous (@thefabstory) is another app good for building new habits but also about learning about time management and meditation, a bit of everything actually!
It’s impossible to choose just 1 best because they focus on different things so I’d pick 3 – My Affirmations for building gratitude, Focusly for meditation and keeping yourself calm and 21 Days Challenge for learning new habits.
I love those 3 apps and I am SO HAPPY I found those! You need to check them out! ❤🤗
2020 isn’t cancelled. 🚫 It is here to make us learn and create new reality ⚠️
You know how after meeting some obstacle and overcoming it you come out of the situation stronger and wiser? 💪 How sometimes you need to lose something to appreciate what you’ve had in the first place? 🤔 How in difficult situations you learn who your real friends are? 🤝 That is 2020 to all of us.
This year isn’t cancelled, no no, it might be the most important year yet. Because it will teach us A LOT 😎
It isn’t even half a year yet and we’ve already learned (got to appreciate it even more) what it means to be healthy 🙏 and to have a roof over our heads 🏡. We’ve got to appreciate our families even more ❤. People who have jobs got to see how lucky they are 💰. And, what’s most important, we got to unite as a society of one planet 🤝🌍. Not just about coronavirus and helping each other but also now, during #blacklivesmatter movement 👊🏾
2020 is time to learn and evolve. It is time to set some new rules about hygiene, travelling and equlity 💪
2020 is a beginning of a new, better world. If we do it right this might be beginning of greatest decade yet 🤗
What if it is all a test? 🤔
To see whether you got your prorities set right? To see what you’re sad about when having to cancel all plans? To see if you can appreciate what you got? To see if you’re flexible making new plans, rearranging your schedules, building new paths, being creative? 🤔
We can learn so much these days ⚠️ Not only about the world but about ourselves too 😉, about your closes ones whether think about you too these days, about your friends if they really care for you 😘
Have you learned something new about yourself? I, for example, started to notice that I really answer to problems/anxiety with work 💪. I put more and more on myself trying to achieve as much as I can, to prove that I’m good enough, to make myself proud, to feel calm once something is complete. This is they way I cope with stress – I work even more. That’s just me but I’ll work on that 😉😅
This is the time to observe, take notes and draw conclusions 📝 This is the time to learn ⚠️. So that once it’s all over we can build new ‘normal’ with the notes we took. We can use our lessons, our mistakes to set new goals, build new paths ⚠️
And I’m not talking about you and me only. I’m talking about all of us as one Earth-society 🌍. We should all keep some of the actions we do now forever. Starting from taking more care abour our health and appreciating when we’re healthy 🙏, from paying more attention to hygiene and washing our hands as often as we can 👏, from keeping healthy distance from one another in a shop, not standing on somebody’s toes 😅, let’s keep this personal space 😉, to helping one another 🤝, to spreading good deeds, to caring about strangers, not only about ourselves! 🙏
We can build such a beautiful new world out of it with new, better priorities, better standards and better rules. 🤩
A world where we can all appreciate what we got, care about others and are willing to help a stranger. 🙏
This is the time to build a new reality. ⚠️

Never look back. What happened, happened.
If it was a good thing then good for you but if something bad happened then just let it be 🤷🏼♀️. Or better yet – learn from it. Do you know what trully changed my mindset? What changed it all for me? Learning to look different at failures – in bad times instead of asking yourself „Why is this happening to me?” ask yourself „What is this trying to teach me?”. This makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE. It did for me.
You can’t change past. Don’t overthink about it then. You don’t have any impact on that now.
What you can do is learn. Learn from your mistakes, from your decisions, from your choices. Next time you’ll do better! 🤗
