Have you heard phrase „ahh kids these days…”? 🤔 I keep hearing (mainly from people my age so 25-35) that kids nowadays are lazy, that they are not independent 🤷♀️, that they are less intelligent because they read less and „only sit on their phones”, that they are rude… I keep hearing that there’s no hope in younger generations and I couldn’t agree less!👎
First of all, if a kid is rude, doesn’t respect older people then it’s a result of bad parenting and our/my generation shouldn’t complain on younger ones as we are the ones responsible for them and making sure that they’re well-bred 😉.
Second of all, I don’t agree that they’re ruse, less intelligent or any of that anyway! Couple weeks ago I was on a tram on my way to work and an old lady asked a teenage boy for help finding the store she needed. Not only he googled the closest store in the area but he actually got off the tram with her and showed her how to get to that place 🙏. Another time I saw a young boy helping a woman out with a stroller on stairs while plenty older man (same age as the woman) were passing by indifferently 🙄.
At work I have 5 girls in their 20s in my team and they are very willing to work, keen on learning new things and I’d never say that they’re lazy 😉.
And as for intelligence – I keep reading articles that young students invented some new machine that will translate sign language live into any other language, other young student who work on a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and they’re getting closer and closer, other ones who do a lot for ecology…😃 Honestly, there are plenty examples of talented and brilliant young people who are smarter than some of us.
So lets not make assumptions on couple examples (there are different kind of people in every generation), lets not label people and lets not create stereotypes that aren’t true. We should all complain less and try to see what’s best in every human being 🤗.

Don’t buy time to spend it anyways
You know what I find really surprising and odd? We keep inventing those facilities, those machines that are supposed to get us more time yet we keep lacking it. We now have washing machines that do laundry for us yet we’re still in a hurry. We’ve got dishwashers that get dishes clean for us which normally took plenty time yet we still don’t have enough time for anything. We even got diet caterings (which I got addicted to this month) thanks to whom we don’t have to cook or do grocery shopping.
We keep buying more time in order to keep loosing it doing something else.
Aren’t you tired of that rat race? Of constantly being in rush? Of running from one place to another with your tongue out? I sure am.
We live in great times when we have somany machines doing stuff for us, we live in times when we should have so much more time than our ancestors who had to do everything manually yet we still don’t have it. Many years ago people started escaping from nature into the city to find a better life yet now we run away from city into nature to catch a breath. Does it apply to you?
This needs to STOP.
We all need to slow down. And the easiest way is to start appreciating here & now. Don’t rush from one task to another, don’t take anything for granted and learn to make time. That’s right, sometimes it is not about having time but making time. If you have those machines running and doing laundry, dishes or dinner for you don’t use that time to get soaked into more work, use it with your loved ones, with your family, reading a good book or simply connecting to nature.
Of course it is convenient and helpful to use that extra time (while you have that laundry or anything else done for you by a machine) to do something else but don’t overuse it.
It is all about that healthy balance to be able to divide your time this way to both have some work done but also to have propper rest and to spend your free time nicely. I am a workaholic and tend to put loads of work/project on me but I never work past 9pm or on weekends. This is my time to rest, to reload, to connect with family, friends and nature or to travel around the world and enjoy its charm 🙂
Unhappy to choose
I feel like nowadays people are unhappy because…there’s too much to choose from! Yes, exactly, because there are too many options 🤷🏼♀️
.
Subconsciously we want to have EVERYTHING so once we have to choose 1 thing out of 30 we become stressed, anxious about the decision and then in the end unhappy about the choice we made 🤯.
.
Daniel Levitin tells a story in „The Organized Mind” about one of his students years ago who came to USA from Romania (Soviet at the time). He recalls how he met this girl in a store in front of a shelf full of different pens almost crying. She wasn’t able to pick one. Back in Romania they had only 3 types of pen and that’s it. “Which one do I need for my biology class? Which one for poetry? Do I want felt tip, ink, gel, cartrifge, erasable? Ballpoint, razor point, roller ball?” ✒🖋🖊.
Then once she chooses she’ll be worried if she got the right one. She’ll go back home and will want the other one, the one she didn’t buy.
Sounds familiar?
.
It may sound as a simple and quite basic example but if you think about it you choose a product every day 🤷🏼♀️. You do grocery shopping and you choose one milk before the other, you choose one jumper instead of another one, you choose one smartphone instead of a different brand. We make hundreds decisions everyday and once we decide we keep wanting the thing we didn’t get! Mind will always want something that is out of reach, something that we are missing 🤷🏼♀️.
.
We are all forced to make plenty decisions every day and this can easily make one unhappy 😬😰.
.
BUT!
.
Instead of thinking what you DIDN’T get think of what you DID get!
Appreciate that smartphone, smile at this new jumper, appreciate that pen! 🤗
.
Do you know why people in Africa or South America are happier than us? (I trully believe they are). Because they don’t have that ‘problem’! They simply appreciate what they have. They don’t have dozens brands of milk to choose from and wonder if that’s the right choice. They are simply happy because they got milk.
.
Minimalism and gratitude.
That’s the answer to it. Learn to choose 1 thing, to be happy about it and to forget about the ones you didn’t choose! 🙏

FOMO or JOMO?
FOMO or JOMO? Which one do you practice?
.
Nowadays people are so soaked into social media and Internet that it becomes hard for them to get off their phones. 📱 This habit got its name – FOMO – Fear of Missing Out.
.
Some of us can’t spend a day (or even an hour!) without the phone, without looking at instagram or checking facebook every 5minutes. Can you relate?
I used to HAVE TO check snapchat (when it was still on top 😅) everyday. I HAD TO see new stories before they disappear after 24h. I used to scroll whole facebook feed until I got to my last seen post. Same with twitter. I just had to see it all. What for? Don’t know. I just felt like I can’t miss out.
.
I had that problem not only with social media but with emails too. I could go on holidays, set an autoresponder and then check all the emails and reply to them straight away anyways. I just couldn’t let it go.
.
But luckily I changed FOMO into JOMO – Joy of Missing Out 😊. Now whenever I go on holidays I am happy to leave my mailbox full and let those unread emails wait for me. I go on instagram when I have time and feel like it, not because I HAVE TO see all the instastories before they disappear.
.
If you have same problem as I used to have just try (try really hard) to let your phone aside for 1 full day. Once you see that nothing happens when you miss out on the news and new posts on your social media it will be easier for you to do it next time and then another time and another.
.
Believe me, life is not all about social media! 😊
.
Enjoy JOMO!

Contradictory world
We live in weird times, don’t you think? 🤷🏼♀️ Times when everything is wrong and has it’s own haters. At least that’s how I feel.
▫️
I feel like whatever used to be good some time ago is now bad. I feel like we, as civilization, do circles when it comes to everyday rules. For example, 20-30 years ago people ate eggs and vegetables from their gardens/farms. It was all rural and eco 🍏🥦🌽🍅🥚. Then the technology moved on and somebody invented all this crap that we put into our food now to make vegetables last longer, be bigger, taste better, be more colorful etc etc. And it was hip. 🔝 People gave up on fresh food straight from farms and went for food made by big companies. „Because it tastes better!”, „Because it cheaper!” etc… And now we go back to point A. Fresh, healthy food is now on top, eating bio and eco stuff is trendy and food made by big companies is bad 👎. I feel like we keep saying that what we have is BAD and that we need something BETTER.
▫️
And it is not only about food. E.g. cosmetics too! There was a time when people used herbs and natural stuff to take care of their skin, then we had big companies make creams for us with all those chemicals inside that apparently made our skin more firm, glowing, younger looking and God knows what else. And now we are back to point A where the less chamicals cream has, the better. Obviously.
▫️
I feel like we no longer know what is good for us and what isn’t.🤷🏼♀️ There is such a a mix of various information on every subject that we don’t know what/who to listen to anymore 🤯.
▫️
Like some people say coconut oil is good for us and others are totally against it. Some specialists say silk is good for your hair and others say it isn’t. Some people say that motivating others and trying to make them feel better, to motivate them to reach out for their goals is great and some say that coaching is pure evil and nobody should listen to it.🤷🏼♀️
▫️
How do you find yourself in this hectic world nowadays? How should we react to all those contradictory opinions?

Terrorism
How do you handle the threat of terrorism? Are you scared of e.g. travelling now? Are you afraid of going to concerts due to past events?
◾◾◾
As cold and insensitive as it may sound I think we should just live.
◾◾◾
Of course we live in scary times and we hear about terrorism more and more but you might just as well get hit by a bus in front of your house, you know?
I know it sounds horrible but we never know our day and hour that we’ll have our last breath. This is why it is so important to LIVE. We can’t get fear control our lives.
Am I supposed to cross off New Zealand or Sri Lanka out of my „places to go” list because of what happened there lately? Those are beautiful countries with lovely people and I still want to see them!
◾◾◾
Do you remember this horrible attack in Paris during a concert in November 2015? I remember I cried whole day cuddled into my Mom’s arms. It was really horrible to me because I used to call myself a ‘concertoholic’ and I used to go to 20-30 concerts a year then. I travelled to different countries to see my favourite bands so it could’ve been me. A concert is a moment of catharsis for me when I forget about all my problems, all my duties or tasks to do and I just get lost in the sound of music. I remember my Mom telling me to stop going to concerts after this attack in Paris but I didn’t. I won’t let some horrible people who do those horrible things make me change my life and the way I live it. I won’t let them make me live in fear.
◾◾◾
As I said, we never know when our time on this precious planet comes to an end and we need to make the fullest out of the time we got. ◾◾◾
What do you think? Do you agree?
