Be positive!

Little things

There is this saying, one of my favourites, „Not everyday is good but there is something good in everyday” and I so agree! 😊
:::
Even though this year has been tough to all of us I am more than sure that we could find something good in all of those days! Like the color of the sky, smell of flowers or somebody being nice to you! 😊
:::
Last 3 months have been very very tough for me, healthwise 🤕, workwise 🙄, many family issues 😟, some friends let me down 😏…believe me, it has not been easy 🤷🏼‍♀️ and in the end when I was thinking that the only positive issue this year (besides my covid test 2 months ago 😜) is my financial situation, I got half of my usual salary today 🤦🏼‍♀️ and even though it’s all good now and it turned out to be a mistake by somebody in HR I won’t get the missing half until January 🤷🏼‍♀️… so 2020 misery goes on 🙄
:::
BUT! Even though it’s been so tough I managed to see some good in everyday, to get excited about something every week, to be happy despite all the problems and that’s how positive mind works! 😉
:::
I’ve been admiring beautiful sunrises and sunsets 🌄 (I am pretty sure that the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets in Poland are in December), I’ve been veeeery creative and doing plenty DIY stuff that you’ve seen/see in Smiley Advent Calendar 😁, I’ve been doing silly sketches and dances with my husband to make our moods better 🤪, I’ve been admiring beautiful fruity smell of my favourite shower gel each day 😍, I’ve been more and more excited about upcoming Xmas creating beautiful Xmas decorations 🎄, I’ve been grateful for every help that I got either from a stranger on a street or from a colleague at work 😉… there is so much good around us we just need to notice it! 🤗

Now tell me something good that happened to you today!

P.s. Here’s a little extra from today’s Smiley Advent Calendar box on my Instagram:

New normal

What if it is all a test? 🤔
To see whether you got your prorities set right? To see what you’re sad about when having to cancel all plans? To see if you can appreciate what you got? To see if you’re flexible making new plans, rearranging your schedules, building new paths, being creative? 🤔
:::
We can learn so much these days ⚠️ Not only about the world but about ourselves too 😉, about your closes ones whether think about you too these days, about your friends if they really care for you 😘
:::
Have you learned something new about yourself? I, for example, started to notice that I really answer to problems/anxiety with work 💪. I put more and more on myself trying to achieve as much as I can, to prove that I’m good enough, to make myself proud, to feel calm once something is complete. This is they way I cope with stress – I work even more. That’s just me but I’ll work on that 😉😅
:::
This is the time to observe, take notes and draw conclusions 📝 This is the time to learn ⚠️. So that once it’s all over we can build new ‘normal’ with the notes we took. We can use our lessons, our mistakes to set new goals, build new paths ⚠️
:::
And I’m not talking about you and me only. I’m talking about all of us as one Earth-society 🌍. We should all keep some of the actions we do now forever. Starting from taking more care abour our health and appreciating when we’re healthy 🙏, from paying more attention to hygiene and washing our hands as often as we can 👏, from keeping healthy distance from one another in a shop, not standing on somebody’s toes 😅, let’s keep this personal space 😉, to helping one another 🤝, to spreading good deeds, to caring about strangers, not only about ourselves! 🙏
:::
We can build such a beautiful new world out of it with new, better priorities, better standards and better rules. 🤩
:::
A world where we can all appreciate what we got, care about others and are willing to help a stranger. 🙏
:::
This is the time to build a new reality. ⚠️

Happy month!

You’ve probably already heard me saying „It’s all about mindset”, right?
Well, it is! 😉
:::
You don’t have much impact on what is happening in the world 🤷🏼‍♀️ You can’t force some people to like you and say only nice things about you 🤷🏼‍♀️. Facts you hear in the news are facts and opinions that people share are their opinions and you can’t change them. But it is your decision what you’re gonna do with it 👊.
:::
You can either let somebody’s opinion disturb you and make you feel bad or you can ignore it.
It’s your decision, your mindset.
:::
You can either think about your day/week/life in negative light or look at it through pink glasses and notice only positive/good parts of it 🤗.
It’s your decision, your mindset.
:::
When you’re stuck at home now you can either look at it as a punishment and keep thinking of the things you cannot do these days or you can look at it as an opportunity to finally work on your projects 😉, to get back to reading 📖 now that you don’t have any distractions or events to go to, to finally start a new hobby you’ve always didn’t have time for 👩‍🍳.
It’s your decision, your mindset.
:::
When you lose a job you can either become devastated, think of yourself as a loser and keep worrying 😫 or you can see it as a push to finally look for something better, to get the courage to get your dream job which you’ve always lacked in your previous job 💪
It’s your decision, your mindset.
:::
There’s no easy job and there’s no easy life without problems 🤷🏼‍♀️ The key is to always find good aspects and being grateful for the litthe things ❤. To decide to ignore/set aside the sad/dark/difficult stuff and focus on the good ones 🙏
:::
You can have a happy life if you want it! You just have to change your thinking! 🙃
:::
As we’re stepping into a new month it’s a great opportunity for it to become a HAPPY MONTH.

HAPPY MONTH

Little things

We’ve learned about gratitude (see my previous post) now it’s time to learn to notice those little things/aspects we need to be grateful for. 👀
In my yesterday’s post I wrote about being grateful and noticing big aspects like being healthy, having family or not being blind but today I want you to learn how to be happy about the little things. This is another KEY TO HAPPINESS. ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Good stuff won’t happen to you everyday, let’s face it. But in order to be happy everyday you need to smile at the little things. 😊 Like the color of the sky, good weather or delicious food 😋. If you think about it, good things DO happen to you everyday, you just need to look for them sometimes. 😁
Look around you, stop for a moment and look at other people. Have a look at colors of your surrounding. Appreciate small gestures from other people like a waiter taking care of you and being friendly in a restaurant or a doctor that wants to help you and take care of your comfort ❤. Look at the street you pass everyday, notice its buildings and their details. We tend to be in rush all the time and doing many things automatically. Stop.⚠️ You need to be present in a moment to appreciate here and now.⚠️
Focus on the things you’re doing. Stop doing everything automatically. Your mind is off then and it doesn’t appreciate the things that are happening. Before you start eating your meal stop and appreciate its colors, its smell. 👃
Just slow down and try to be present.❤
This is called MINDFULLNESS. There are many excercises to develop it so you appreciate some situations or moments more and do less things automatically.
One of the excercises is eating a raisin – perfect for beginners. Act like you’ve never eaten or seen a raisin before. Notice the way the raisin looks, how it feels, its smell or taste. Then slowly eat it but focus on it.👅
If you want to excercise it and learn to be present here and now hence appreciate your life more see this article – https://positivepsychologyprogram.com/mindfulness-exercises-techniques-activities/

Overthinking

Do you know what’s 1st step to being unhappy? OVERTHINKING. That’s right. Half of the problems (or maybe even more) that you worry about DO NOT EVEN EXIST. Why do you stress out about some possible scenarios that MIGHT happen? They may not happen. People tend to exaggerate so many situations. Waking up at night stressed that you might lose your job. That you might be seriously ill cause you’ve been having this headache for some time now. That your boyfriend doesn’t love you anymore. Do you know that for a FACT or you’re just assuming? DO YOUR RESEARCH. Is your situation at work really endangered? Talk to your boss if he/she is sattisfied with your work. Maybe you can do something better? Do you feel bad, have headaches? Just do some blood tests, you’re probably just missing some vitamins, hormones or just sleep. Is your boyfriend not into you as he used to be? He’s not smiling when he sees you? Talk to him. It may not even be about you. Maybe he’s going through something, maybe there’s something wrong with his family. Or maybe he’s overthinking too, ha! Stop worrying about future. You’ll have enough time to worry and to stress out when something bad does happen (and it will from time to time, life can’t be just about good times). Believe me, it will save you 80% of stress.
So as we have new week, new plans, new opportunities, please promise me that you’ll try to worry less and don’t overthink. 😘

Psychology facts

How to end your day well

Every evening make yourself a list of things that you have managed to do that day. It doesn’t have to be anything big. Did you make someone smile? Did you send that email that you’ve been stressed about? Did you finish reading a book? Did you call your friend and told him you miss him? Or your mom?
Think of anything small but special.
Try to do it every evening. But only good things! Don’t think about things you did wrong or you did not manage to do at all. You’ll have tomorrow to deal with that. Now focus on good things.

So what have you done today?
I did well at work, got a great idea for a new post, had a phone call about my next project and prepared a special surprise for my husband 😊❤
