You know what’s best kind of self-love/self-care? 🤔 Taking care of your own health! 🤗

➡️ First of all, treat yourself well! 🙏 Have a closer look on what you’re eating 👅. Do you plan your meals and grocery shopping 🗒 or do you just go to a store, buy whatever you see and put it all on a pan just to „throw” something into your belly 🤷🏼‍♀️? Do you bring enough vitamins, proteins, fiber? 🧐 Are your meals nutritious? 🥦🍌🍜

Now, how’s your physical activity? 🤔 Do you workout 💪, practice some sport 🏀, go for walks , do yoga or pilates🧘🏼‍♀️? Physical activity has as much impact on your physical health as healthy eating 😉

And now, how’s your mental health? 🧠 Do you sleep well? 😴 Do you feel confident? Are you anxiety free? 😇
Physical health (so healthy eating and regular physical activities) have great impact on mental health too! You know what they say – healthy body, healthy mind 😉

➡️ Secondly, do you examine yourself? 📈📊 Do you do regular blood tests 💉, regular ultrasounds or x-rays of your stomach, lungs or heart? Do you go see a doctor regularly or only when you feel bad already? 😶

I examine myself once a year. I do blood tests, check my heart, my lungs, my stomach and lady parts. You should too! 🤗

➡️ And lastly, remember to seek help whenever you need it 🙏⚠️No matter if it’s something about your physical health or, especially, mental health! If you feel bad don’t hide it away! Go and get some help! 🙏

SELF LOVE: Homemade hair-masks

Winter is so bad for hair! 😖 They get weaker and weaker with every temperature change and constant putting a hat on and off makes them electrify and dry 💔

Try this homemade hair mask to repair them 🤗
➡️ 1. Almond & egg
🔸️1/4 cup almond oil
🔸️1 raw egg 🥚

Method
Combine the almond oil and egg until you get a smooth mixture. Optionally you can just whisk the egg and apply it to your hair 🤗

Section your hair and start applying the mixture to your scalp and through the length of your hair. 😊

Wait for 40 minutes and then rinse your hair as usual.

Use a good shampoo and conditioner, preferably one without sulfates.

Almond oil acts as an emollient.The egg repairs damage in the hair shaft with its high protein content. This is considered to be one of the best remedies for frizz ☺

➡️ 2.Beer mask! 😜

You Will Need
🔸️ 1 pint of beer 🍺

Method
Decarbonate your beer by pouring it into a bowl. Let it sit overnight until it goes flat.
Wash your hair with shampoo and then pour the beer through your hair while massaging your scalp.
Rinse the beer out with cold water. 😊

Beer restores moisture and nourishes your hair 😀. It is also used as a cleansing rinse that removes build-up. This helps keep your cuticles healthy.

➡️ 3.Honey And Yogurt

You Will Need
🔸️2-3 tablespoons yogurt
🔸️1 tablespoon honey 🍯

Method
Mix the honey and yogurt in a bowl.
Apply the mixture on your scalp and hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes.
Wash with cold water. 😊

Do this once a week to restore moisture and maintain your hair.

Yogurt is an effective deep conditioner and honey helps in retaining moisture. It also acts as an emollient and makes hair smoother and shinier. 🤗

Before you start comparing yourself or your relationship to others while scrolling Instagram and seeing photos from so-to-seem perfect dates, 🙄 remember that what people post on Instagram isn’t their everyday life 😉. We all pick a photo that we look good on 🤩, we all pick a moment we are happy about ☺ and we usually share good news and positive things about ourselves 👍.

Just because a couple posts a picture of them smiling and having a romantic evening, it doesn’t mean they don’t fight, they don’t have any bad moments or bad days 🤷🏼‍♀️
No one is perfect and there’s no such thing as a perfect couple 😉. We all have ups and downs.  I fight with my husband too and that’s normal 🤷🏼‍♀️

Another thing – before you start comparing your partner to others and before you become overcritical remember that there are other ways to say „I love you” than buying flowers 🌹 or expensive gifts 🎁. If your partner doesn’t say „I love you” often it doesn’t mean that he/she doesn’t 😉. Maybe he/she’s just not that into words but shows it in everyday small deeds? 🤗 Like covering you with a blanket when you fall asleep on a couch? 😴 Or making you hot lemon tea when you don’t feel that well? 🤧 Or making you a sandwhich even though he/she is tired and doesn’t feel like getting up from couch? 🥪 Those are all acts of love too, remember 😉

And lastly – if you’re single and don’t celebrate V-Day at all just take it easy 🤗. Being single is not bad and you should NOT feel sad that you’re not on some romantic date or that you didn’t get any flowers 😉. Buy yourself flowers ⚘, cook yourself a nice meal 🥘, spend a lovely evening with yourself or maybe with another friend who’s single 😊?

Even thought I celebrate V-Day now with my husband, I’ve been single for 24 years before 😉 and believe me, I’ve been there and I know the feeling but there’s no need to be sad about some holiday, just get out and live that day as any other! 😁

SELF-LOVE: Lemon Sugar Scrub

This Lemon Sugar Scrub 🍋 Recipe makes a great-smelling, rejuvenating sugar scrub that you can either use yourself 🧖‍♀️ or package in a pretty jar or mason jar to make a thoughtful and homemade gift 🎁.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup Sugar 🍚
1/4 cup Coconut Oil 🥥
1 Lemon 🍋
Optional: A few drops of Lemon Essential Oil

➡️ Pour sugar into bowl.
➡️ Squeeze lemon juice and add to sugar
➡️ Mix in coconut oil (add more if you like a wet consistency).
➡️ Zest lemon and add to mixture (reserve a little to garnish top of scrub in jar).
➡️ Add your sugars to the jar.
➡️ Add a printable label to the front and maybe a ribbon to gift🎁

SELF-LOVE: Work on your dreams no matter what vs rest no matter what 🤔

You need to listen to your body and rest when needed 🙏
I have been working too much + had too much stress in November and December and I still ‘feel it’ in my body 😫. Even though i’m not working that much now in January, I have finally lazy weekends and sleep well 🛌, I still feel tired and don’t have that energy to jump into spiral of work 🤷🏼‍♀️ and have been taking it slowly so far in the 1st half of January and that’s ok 😉. I’m still moving forward, just taking small steps.

Don’t push yourself if you don’t feel like it ⚠️. Don’t say “I’ll do it no matter what!” if you don’t want to do it ⚠️. It may seem contradictory to me pushing you to follow your dreams and to work on yourself but it’s not, you just have to find that balance ⚖.

If you’ll be pushing yourself and not feel like it not only your body will give up and you will feel tired all the time but you’ll drop that dream/project quickly as forcing yourself to work on it won’t make you happy 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Create a healthy, individual routine for yourself 😊. Try what works for you and what doesn’t. I work 8h at my full-time ‘normal’ job, then work 4-5h on my projects/dream and always need those 3-4h of rest in the evening when I watch Netflix with my husband 🤩, workout and/or play PS4 🕹. And as for weekends I work on my projects for couple hours on Saturdays (but not each Saturday) and always leave Sunday fully off to do nothing and let my body and mind rest 🤗.

Ingredients:
🔸️1 cup Cane or Brown Sugar
🔸️½ cup Ground Coffee
🔸️1 cup Coconut Oil room temperature 🥥

Instructions:
➡️ Combine cane sugar and coconut oil in small mixing bowl.
➡️ Add ground coffee to mixture. ➡️ Stir well. Add more ground coffee if desired.
➡️ Garnish with a sprinkle of ground coffee.

SELF-LOVE: Breathing excercises

How’s your self-care time? 👌 Do you put yourself first? 💅 Do you allow yourself to say ‘no’ to others and ‘yes’ to you and your needs? 🤗

I gotta say that I have finally learned to do that this year 😊 I started planning my days off and by planning I mean writing in my calendar “REST TIME – DO NOT PLAN/DO ANYTHING!” haha 😅.

But I’ve really started putting myself first too. I don’t feel bad rejecting some other plans if, e.g. a friend calls me on my day off to do something/party and I say “sorry, it’s me-time and I want and need to rest and spend some time by myself” 😉. If you say that to your friend and he/she doesn’t understand it then he/she is not a friend! 😉

I really cherish me-time and I try to have such a day at least once a month 😊

SELF-LOVE: Hand cream

This hand cream recipe is easy, however some of the ingredients are not found in the average pantry.
🔸️
The orange and vanilla scent is gorgeous and it goes with this hand wash, however feel free to use your favourite essentials oils 😊
🔸️
Ingredients:
a sterilised jar to fit 55 ml or 1.9 oz
12 g/0.4 oz cocoa butter 🍫
12g/0.4 oz beeswax or coconut oil 🥥
30ml/1 fl oz almond, grape seed or calendula oil 🍇
10 drops of carrot or borage seed oil 🥕
10 drops orange or tangerine and vanilla essential oils (optional) 🍊
🔸️
➡️ Melt cocoa butter and beeswax in a bain marie (a bowl sitting in a saucepan of water), stir well, turn off the heat and add the almond, carrot or borage and essential oils.
➡️ Pour into a sterilised jar while still warm. Label and enjoy using up in six months if not before 🤗
