Healthy balance

You know what’s one of my main rules in life? Healthy balance about EVERYTHING 😉

We live in crazy times where everybody is in a rush, everybody wants to be the best at something 😬. Some people risk it all to get what they want. Is it worth it though? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve heard some people say that in order to be successful you need to totally limit your time off and focus on work 😶. That you need to drop Netflix, drop the time with your loved ones and spend every minute of your day self-evolving 😏 That instead of watching a tv show on Netflix in the evening you should focus on broadening your skills, your knowledge and read a book 📖

I understand that in order to succeed you need to work hard and I totally agree with that 👍 I highly encourage everybody to self-evolve, to learn new skills… sure, that too ☝️. But to limit your time off? 😕 To never watch Netflix (apart from the fact that you can always learn something from a tv show/movie/documentary 🙄)? To never have propper leisure time? 😒

There needs to be balance⚖. Not only you NEED TO REST regularly in order to rebuild your energy to work, to get new ideas 🤩, to stay fresh 🙂 but if you work your ass off and never rest you’ll lose your motivation, lose your will to work and it will all become a torture for you and in the end when you succeed it won’t bring you any joy 😏

Another example are people who want to lose weight or muscle up and they work out every day or even twice a day 🙄. That ain’t the way to do it 🚫. Muscles grow on your rest days! You need at least 1 day break from working out a week for the body to recharge and for your muscles to grow.

You should make sure that there’s heathy balance ⚖ in every part of your life:
Between work 💻 & rest 🎬
Between working out 💪& regeneration 🧖‍♀️
Between your career 👩‍💻 & private life 💃
Between the time you’ve got for others 👥 and time you’ve got for yourself 🧘🏼‍♀️
Between physical development 💪 and mental development 🧠
Between caring about what’s important ⚠️ and ignoring what’s not 🚫
Healthy balance is the key, believe me 😉

Do you know that saying „out of sight, out of mind”? 🤔 Turns out that scientific researches prove that wisdom when it comes to fighting temptation and empowering willpower! 💪

Good healthy mindset probably already suggests you that it is easier not to eat sweets when you don’t have them around in the house 😉

Brian Wansink, american psychologist learning about eating behaviour did an interesting research with James E. Painter that he describes in his book „Mindless Eating” 🧐

Gentlemen gave their secretaries chocolates 🍫 on Secretaries week in some office. Some of the sweets were in a box with  a see-through lid where they could see all the chocolates 👀 and some of the sweets were in a normal not see-through box where the content of the box stayed hidden 📦.

What do you think, which chocolates tempted more to be eaten? 😅 Of course those with a see-through lid 🤷🏼‍♀️. Women that could see the chocolates were tempted 71% times more! 😱😳 They were reaching for chocolates 7,7 times a day while those women who had „hidden” chocolates reached for them only 4,6 times a day.

You see? Out of sight out of mind 🤗
So here’s your task for today: get rid of all the temptations in your house 😉. Not only sweets but maybe some stuff that you spend too much time on while you could spend the time working on your dreams like PS games or your Netlix account? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Think about it. You don’t have to throw them away/delete them but you can maybe lend those games to your friend or ask your friend to change your password to your Netflix account 😉

Smiley Future – Step 28

How do you relax? 😉
Today’s last part of „Be good to yourself” series.

Do you remember when we talked about factors that weaken your strong will? 🤔 It was stress and tiredness and lately we’ve been talking a lot about the danger of treating yourself badly and punishing (and getting into a trap of „everything or nothing” thinking” ⚠️).
:::
That’s why sometimes in order to rebuild and strengthen strong will you need rest, regeneration and pleasures that will give you energy and motivation to work 🤗.
:::
Task for today: Make a list of your ways of relax and pleasures. It is important so that they wouldn’t be contradictory to your goal (so e.g. don’t write on your list „eating huge pizza” or „eating chocolate cookies”  when your goal is to eat healthy 😉).
:::
It might be an evening with a good book 📖 or a movie 🎬, talk or meeting with a friend 💬, relaxing bath 🛀, walk around the neighbourhood 🏞, playing with dog 🐶, relaxing yoga session etc. 🧘🏼‍♀️

SELF-LOVE

Alright guys, time for new, and possibly the most important, weekly section in Smiley Society 😉

You know how I divide my week into tasks and asign each day to one of my projects (yes, I love planning and being organized 🙈)? So e.g. every Monday I work on my blog and prepare all posts for the upcoming week, every Tuesday I do research for my 2nd book…etc etc. Thursdays used to be kind of „Others” section when I did some other stuff… Now it’s time to asign a permament thing for Thursdays and this is what my new section is going to be about – SELF-LOVE 🙏❤

That’s right. I decided to plan couple hours of every Thursday to spend, well, with me! 😊 Either reading 📖, doing yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️(I plan to start practicing it), doing some home SPA or anything else that is relaxing. And I advice you to do the same! 😉

We all need that time for ourselves, to get our thoughts together, to feel good in your own skin, to just relax and rest from everybody else.
:::
You need to have some time for the relationship you have with yourself! 🤗 You can’t share love and love others until you love yourself, until you feel good with yourself! 😉 We all need Self-love.
:::
So from now on, every Thursday, I’ll be sharing with you my ideas for those Self-Love days. Either recommending a good book for you to to read 📖, uploading a recipe for some good (but fit! 😉) food (let’s come back to Comfort Food section 🍪) or even showing you how to make some home-made cosmetics for your home natural SPA 🧖‍♀️.

And as for a task for today – pick a day in your week to have those Self-Love days. It doesn’t have to be Thursday like me. It can be during weekend too. Just pick it and mark it in your calendar 📆 for good. It’s not about a whole day, just 2-4h for yourself.

You can do it. You HAVE TO do it. If you think that you don’t have that much time for yourself….well…maybe it’s time to rearrange some things, to rearrange some prorities 😉. After all you’ll have that „me, myself & I” relationship your whole life. You need to make it work. You need to feel good in it. You need to love yourself 🙏❤

Let’s get back to our circle of life.

Today time to think about hobbies and to sum up whole circle. After that it will be easier for you to set a challenge and design your tomorrow 💪

Last section that we need to analize is widely understood personal development. It is our passions, hobbies and interests, basically everything you like doing and that makes you feel creative 🤩
:::
As usual – mark on your circle of life how happy you are about your personal development/hobbies in a scale from 1 to 10.
:::
Here are the questions that will help you mark that subject:
* Do you think this part needs change? If yes, what would have to change? Maybe there is something that you want for a long time, something you miss yet you kept putting it off?
* What will you gain by those changes?
* What will happen if you don’t change anything about your personal development?
* In what way does personal development have an impact on other aspects of your life now?

Bonus: in the cirlce of life I made for you you’ll find an empty spot for a section that is important to you and that we haven’t talked about here. I, personally, put „Confidence” there. :::
Do you have your whole circle of life ready? Remember, the circle is for your eyes only, you don’t have to show it to anybody.
:::
Now that you have whole circle ready it is time to analyze it as a whole. This circle will help you find segment that needs change most and – what comes after – your goal. Changing one, crucial segment might bring changes into others ones.

Look at your circle and answer those questions:
* What is  the most important in life to you? How do those values take place next to the circle? Do they combine?
* Which segment has most impact on other segments?
* Which segment do you want to work on 1st?

Self-evolving

Never look back

Never look back. What happened, happened. If it was a good thing then good for you but if something bad happened then just let it be. Or better yet – learn from it. Do you know what trully changed my mindset? What changed it all for me? Learning to look different at failures – in bad times instead of asking yourself „Why is this happening to me?” ask yourself „What is this trying to teach me?”. This makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE. It did for me.

You can’t change past. Don’t overthink about it then. You don’t have any impact on that now.

What you can do is learn. Learn from your mistakes, from your decisions, from your choices. Next time you’ll do better!

So tell me, what did life teach you lately? What mistake did you make?

My husband and I are still arranging our new apartment that we got in April and boy did we make a lot of mistakes there! We didnt’ put enough electric contacts in the kitchen (or in whole apartment really), we did a bad set up in bathroom and made it look smaller than it is, we did mad meassures in kitchen and one cupboard is a bit higher than the rest…the list is long but believe me, those weren’t failures, it was just lessons that we got here and we won’t do same mistakes in our next apartment in couple years.
