SELF LOVE: 3 Homemade Beauty Treatments Using Leftover Pumpkin 🎃

➡️ 1. Body Sugar Scrub
If your skin is in need of exfoliation, pumpkin makes a bang-up base for a sugar scrub 😃. Mix together equal parts pumpkin puree and olive oil and add enough sugar until you have a thick slurry. In the shower gently rub all over with a washcloth or loofah, rinse then dry as usual.

This recipe comes from dermatologist Dr. Ted Lain via Huffington Post: Mix together one cup of pumpkin 🎃, two tablespoons of brown sugar, one tablespoon of honey 🍯 and a half cup of yogurt. (The sugar and yogurt are to exfoliate, the honey is a humectant.) Spread on to your face and let sit for 10 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry 😊

3. Lip Balm/Scrub 💋
A pinch of pumpkin for the pout does wonders. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin puree with 1/4 teaspoon coconut oil and 1/2 teaspoon fine sugar. Rub on lips and massage gently to gently exfoliate and moisturize. 😍

Take a small bowl and add half cup of watermelon juice in it. Add one tablespoon of yogurt, and mix both the ingredients well. Apply the face mask on your face and neck, and let it stay for 20 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. 🤗

If you have a dry skin, then bring this face mask to your rescue. Lemon will gently exfoliate your dry, dead skin cells, whereas honey and watermelon juice will moisturise and hydrate your rough skin 😁

DIY Hydrating Floral Honey Face Mask For Sensitive Skin 🧖‍♀️

Ingredients:
🔸️3 Tablespoons Sunflower Oil
🔸️2 Tablespoons Raw Local Honey 🍯
🔸️1 tsp Rose Petals 🌹
🔸️1 tsp Helichrysum Flowers

➡️In a small bowl combine sunflower oil and raw local honey 🍯
➡️Microwave oil and honey together for 10-15 seconds just to gently warm the oil and honey.
➡️Next, finely crush the rose petals and helichrysum flowers using a mortar and pestle until they are finely broken down 😊. If you would prefer a finer powder for your mask you can opt to use a spice or coffee grinder to grind the flower petals.
➡️Add the crushed flowers to the honey and oil mixture and mix well.
➡️Spread an even layer of the mask over your face and neck and allow it to sit for as long as you would like, ideally leaving it on for a minimum of 20 minutes 🤩
➡️Remove the mask with warm water, gently moving your hands in small circles over the skin to gently exfoliate.
➡️Pat dry and enjoy your extra soft skin

SELF LOVE: Basil & Aloe Vera Face Mask 🧖‍♀️

This Mask Is Great For:

Ingredients:
🔸️Aloe vera gel
🔸️Basil 🍃
🔸️Indian lilac (optional)

Recipe:
➡️For this recipe, you need to grind a handful of basil and a handful of lilac before mixing. If you can buy the leaves pre-ground, that would be great. The easiest way to do it yourself is to use a mortar and pestle. If you don’t have those tools, place the leaves on the palm of your hand, and press and rub with your thumb using twisting motions. This helps to release the essential oils inside the leaves.
➡️Place the ground leaves in a mixing bowl and a 1 tablespoon of water.
➡️Stir until the water is gone.
➡️Pour in 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel.
➡️Mix until the gel covers all the leaf matter.

How To Apply:
➡️Start by washing your face and neck with warm water and an oil-free cleanser to remove makeup and open pores.
➡️Spread the aloe vera gel, leaves and all, onto the skin of your face, neck, and décolleté.
➡️Let the mask dry for fifteen minutes. Keep an eye on your surroundings as the leaves may have a tendency to fall your face as the aloe dries.
➡️Rinse your face, first with lukewarm water, and then with cool water to tighten pores.
➡️Dry your skin with a soft towel 😀

SELF-LOVE: Face scrubs

Homemade Face Scrubs for Every Skin Type 🤩

Ingredients:
– sugar or salt of your choice 🍚
– oil of your choice 🍶
– fruit or vegetable of your choice 🍒🍓🍅🥑
– muddler
– air-tight containers

Instructions:
1. Choose your container, and measure your exfoliant so that the container is 3/4 full.

2. Measure out your oil. You’ll want a 2-to-1 ratio. So, twice as much salt or sugar as oil.
🔸️
3. Combine oil and salt or sugar in a bowl, and stir until just combined.
🔸️
4. Add in the fruit or vegetable chopped as finely as you can get it, and muddle the mixture together until just combined. You don’t want to mix it too much or the granules will start to dissolve.

5. Decant into your storage container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
